The Urban Indigenous Homeward Bound Hub brings together key service providers and community leaders around a shared vision in Dryden, a small urban community in northern Ontario.
Starting in 2015, a collaborative of organizations founded the Havelock Hub, located approximately 60 kilometres outside of Peterborough in the village of Havelock. The collaborative recognized the interrelated challenges faced by people living in rural areas—the particular needs and barriers of people living in eight diverse municipalities and two First Nations communities.
Langs is a dynamic organization with six locations including the HUB@1145, its main location. There is much to learn from the innovation and leadership of this remarkable organization, which will mark its 40th anniversary in 2018.
The Carlington Hub in Ottawa, Ontario is a work in progress. This ambitious project is an interesting story because it highlights how the two Hub partners, Carlington Community Health Centre and Ottawa Community Housing, have worked diligently together to move the project forward, and sometimes around, challenges.
